Cornwall TREC Group have announced the launch of a new summer series, supported by Equo Events. We speak to event organiser Cathy Craddock to find out more:

There is one way that we know that summer is well on its way, and that is when our evening summer series get underway.

The event is at the popular Chyverton Park in Zelah (near Truro) and both the competition and warm-up are held on surfaced outdoor arenas.

From the 27 April to the 20 July (excluding 8 June as it’s Royal Cornwall Week) Cornwall TREC Group are holding weekly Wednesday evening dressage or showjumping competitions. These alternate fortnightly.

These events are friendly, relaxed and sociable and the summer series has received a reputation for being a great place for young horses and nervous competitors to compete in a relaxed, low-pressure environment.

In addition to this, the more established combinations can enjoy a mid-week challenge to help prepare them for their weekend competitions.

Having responded to feedback from our dressage evenings there is a slight amendment for 2016. We will run two intro tests, two prelim tests and a ‘pick your own’ test class, where riders can choose between prelim, novice or elementary tests.

Our showjumping evenings start with a clear-round and we will happily adjust the course to suit your requirements. From 6pm we begin the 70cm, 80cm, 90cm and light permitting 100cm classes.

The summer series will include a Cricklands Qualifier and RoR Riding Club Challenge. We have plenty to keep you motivated and challenged, with plenty for you to aim for.

Everyone is welcome at our summer series events. The more you come to, the more chance you have of accumulating points and winning the amazing prizes we will have on offer thanks to the generous sponsorship from Equo, with extra special prizes for Cornwall Trec Group members.

We can’t wait to see you there.
