The Easton Harriers branch of the Pony Club held their last event of 2015 on Sunday 25 October at Poplar Park, Hollesley in Suffolk. This was the branch’s first event with online entries via Equo and we had taken around 170 entries in advance.

The weather was perfect and helped to bring more riders and horses to enjoy the 75cm, 90cm and 1m courses on the good, sandy going. The top three placed entries in each class qualified for the National Hunter Trial Series final at Eland Lodge in October 2016 and the winner of each of the individual classes was presented with a rug kindly donated by Equo.

The 75cm pairs class proved popular with 27 entries, from which cousins Caitlin Pugh on Pluto and Imogen Hughes riding Lemonfield Girl emerged as winners, with Caitlin also receiving the best member’s rosette.

The individual 75cm classes were won by Beth Fewings and Billy G (from the Pony Club members’ section) and Vivi Klenum-Pottinger on Sartarelli (from the non-members section). Lily Waspe riding Tiddles was the highest placed Easton Harriers member in second place.

In the 90cm classes, Tabitha Wilson-Smith riding Ruby Queen of Diamonds won the Pony Club members’ section and the best Easton Harriers rosette, while ex-Easton Harriers member Davina Greenwell won the open section on Kim.

The 1m class was not divided and this was won by Becky Robinson on Shadowman. Rowena Wilson-Smith on Autumn Gold collected the best Easton Harriers rosette in this class.

As ever, our grateful thanks go to everyone who helped with the organisation and running of the event – fence judges, starters, stewards, timers and scorers as well as those who made packed lunches for all those people. We couldn’t do it without you!
