Tumpy Green EC held their Christmas extravaganza on 13 December and Equo's south-west representative, Tammy, headed along to share the festive fun. Organiser Nikki Secker reports.

Sunday 13 December saw gymkhana madness take over Tumpy Green Equestrian Centre, Dursley, Gloucestershire. It was a real taste of family equine fun, with young and young at heart battling it out for the title of Christmas Gymkhana Queen 2015.
As with all the events at the Centre we had competitors from the equestrian centre as well as visiting horses and riders. The warm friendly feel of the centre was certainly on display for our Christmas gymkhana.
One of the things that makes the events very special is the team of fantastic volunteers that are always on hand to help at all competitors, it’s very much Team Tumpy. The shows and competitions at the centre are run by Friends of Tumpy Green, a community group based at the centre, with all profits used to improve the facilities at the centre and to promote access for all.
In the end the title was narrowly won by Amanda Jayne Polkinghome riding Tim, a duo that I think we will see a lot more of.
We will shortly be winding down for a short Christmas break, but it will be a short one as we certainly have a full 2016 planned. Just check out our range of activities at Equo Events.
